Engagement Photo Shoot at Woburn
I’m really looking forward to being Sophie & Darren’s wedding photographer later this month. They’re great fun and easy to work with, and they have a great wedding venue at the Sculpture Gallery in Woburn, near Milton Keynes.
We went there on Sunday for an engagement photo shoot. It was an ideal time to pick out some of our favourite locations there (and there are a lot to choose from). So we got some pictures around the outside of the Sculpture Gallery and then we went to the Safari Park. Darren used to look after the elephants there, and still obviously has a soft spot for them, so we got a few more pictures with the elephants.
Wedding Photography at Fallowfields Hotel, Oxfordshire
I had a very long day on Saturday. I was Amanda & Trevor’s wedding photographer at Fallowfields Hotel in Oxfordshire. They had only booked me for a half day which left the evening free to photograph a black tie ball at the Holt Hotel near Kidlington.
Here are a few pictures from the wedding at Fallowfields Hotel.
Wedding Photography at Rye Hill, Banbury
Rye Hill Golf Course near Banbury was the setting for Hayley & Craig’s wedding on Friday. We had to dodge quite a few showers on the day, but still managed to get out and get some great shots at this picturesque venue.
British Red Cross Abseil at the Blade in Reading
I haven’t got as many charity abseils booked this year as previous years, my wedding photography seems to overtaking my event photography. It’s just a nice mix at the moment.
Here are a few pictures from the British Red Cross’ abseil at the Blade in Reading which was on Sunday.
Wedding Photography at Warwick House, Southam
I was the wedding photographer at Rachael & Symon’s wedding on Saturday. They had their ceremony and reception at Warwick House in Southam, which really is a beautiful venue for a wedding.
We got there a bit early and got some great shots of Rachael and her bridesmaids during their last minute preparations. Meanwhile Symon and his groomsmen and the guests were arriving down stairs. As Mandie was helping me out for the day, we could split up and capture everything that was going on.
After the ceremony, everyone spilt out onto the terrace for some drinks and photos. It was a lovely sunny day, but very cold, so we got through the group shots as quickly as possible. After a few shots outside with the bride & groom, we went inside and got some great wedding photos inside the hotel and in the bridal suite.
Here are a few of my favourites from the day.
Commercial Photography Trip to Zinal, Switzerland
I created a website for the owners of Chalet Ceilidh, a luxury ski chalet in Zinal, towards the end of last year. We were very pleased with the website, but all agreed that it could do with some better pictures. So we did a deal, and a couple of months later I was in Zinal, with a commercial photography assignment at the chalet and the resort. I got there just in time, as the snow is starting to melt quickly, but this was the earliest available time when the chalet wasn’t booked out and when I was available.
Engagement Portraits at Broughton Castle, Banbury
I had a very enjoyable engagement portrait session with Jess & Richard on Friday evening at Broughton Castle. We got there at about 5:30pm, which was perfect timing for the last hour of light for the day. Broughton Castle is a fantastic place to be at this time of the evening, as the castle is west facing, it gets bathed in beautiful light.
Wedding Photography at the Bell Hotel, Winslow
I had an engagement photography session with Carol & John not so long ago, and now it’s for real. They had their wedding at the Bell Hotel in Winslow in Buckinghamshire on Saturday. They had a superb day with their family and friends, there was laughter and fun all day.
After the very relaxed and jovial ceremony, we went outside to get a few group photos and some wedding pictures of Carol & John. Then it was time for the wedding breakfast, the Bell Hotel laid on a fantastic carvery which seemed to go down very well. After the meal, there was a quick turn around of the room, ready for the evenings entertainment. The band had the dance floor full all night. We had our evening photobooth set up for guests to leave their messages for the bride and groom.
Pre Wedding Photography in Banbury
Rachael & Symon had their pre wedding photo shoot yesterday. We had a stroll around a local park and got some great engagement portraits. They’re a lovely couple and I’m really looking forward to being their wedding photographer at Warwick House in Southam next month.
Charity Rugby Match Oxford University V HSBC Penguins
I photographed a very entertaining rugby match between Oxford University Rugby Football club and the UK’s premium touring club, HSBC Penguins. The proceeds from the gate, and the jersey auction after the match have gone to Marie Curie Cancer Care.
The Penguins dominated the first half. Oxford fought back well after the break, but couldn’t quite get back on terms with the touring club.
