Know Your Camera
Like other electronic devices, digital cameras also have some foibles that every user must understand in order to get the best experience out of their cameras. The following are a few of the most important things that you need to know about this gizmo.
Resolution is not everything. There is a common idea that the higher the number of pixels a camera has, the better quality of photo it can produce. Well, while larger pixels can really give you good details when enlarging images, it is by no means a guarantee that you can create a stunning picture.
Zoom is the key. More than allowing you to enlarge a subject of the photo, the zooming capability of cameras will give you the ability to capture scenes which you might find hard to get more focus from afar. The greater the telephoto power of your camera will be, the better the shot you can take. So choose a camera with ultimate zoom control and quality, such as an extended zoom and image stabilisation. These features will enable you to take a shot in full zoom with tack-sharp quality without using a tripod.
Small cameras, bigger opportunity. While you might fancy those big, black single-lens reflex (SLR) cameras, never underestimate those units that are small enough to fit into your pocket. They are rather convenient to use when travelling because they are easier whip out from the pocket and easy to snap photos so that while others are still busy fumbling for their bulky gadgets, you are already enjoying the chance to make a good shot.
Cameras do break. Well, digital cameras are not made to last a lifetime. They are susceptible to accidental damage and wear and tear over time. They are not as sturdy ad their film counterparts, so they must be handled properly at all times.
